I received a special report from an anonymous tip who emailed me with
this story (you know who you are). Apparently yesterday was MP’s 21st
birthday, and he was spotted in a local Cambridge alehouse last night
having quite the party. Spotted with two unidentified non-Hillelites,
he was apparently celebrating well into the night. We wish him a happy
birthday and hope that he learns, with time, to drink responsibly.

Just wrote this on the older site, but I’ll write this here too:
This is funny, but just FYI, it’s not true. Danielle can verify that I was in Lamont writing a paper for my tutorial on Sunday night.
I think this proves pretty conclusively that Michael is NOT the blogger.
If Michael wanted to cast suspicion away from himself, what better way than to write a post which seems to put him at odds with the blogger?
That said, this particular post rubbed me the wrong way, as if it’s not Michael writing (some of) this blog, I find it less funny and a bit closer to slander (something which this blog has been pretty good about avoiding).
Anonymity cuts both ways – some jokes are only funny because of who tells them and why. Without that context, some of this blog’s content just doesn’t work as well.
As Yair says, this is closer to slander than the rest of the blog – so maybe that means it really is Michael. If the blogger wanted to come up with something entertaining and slightly scandalous without offending anyone, it’d be safest to just write about himself.
